Mr. Jhonny Tiscareño Ramirez - Best Poster Presentation

Mr. Jhonny Tiscareño Ramirez, visiting Master student from Cinvestav, Mexico City at Peter Grünberg Institute 9 (Semiconductor nanoelectronics), has won the Best Poster Presentation at the 5th edition of the Latin America Electron Device Conference 2023, Puebla, Mexico. IEEE LAEDC is a new conference sponsored by the IEEE Electron Device Society geared to bring together students and young researched with specialists from all Electron Device related fields.

In the poster “Thermal conductivity of GeSn alloys: a CMOS candidate for energy harvesting applications”, Jhonny has presented his results obtained during the research stay at PGI-9. CMOS thermoelectric is a new research topic at PGI-9 targeting the development of Si-based materials for energy recovery in the temperature range below 100°C (low grade heat). Mr. Ramirez contributed to the experimental set-up build-up and one of the first results in the field.
